Training Goals

Understand and master special effects using prosthetic transfers that meet the standards of the film industry.
Analyse the various degrees of injury through surgical drawing on sculptures of damaged areas on all skin tones, from light to dark.

40 hours – 5 days

Prerequisites

Knowledge of basic makeup techniques, as well as completion of the "Special Effects 2" training

Prosthetics on Light Skin Tones: Hands

9:30 a.m. Discussion on past experiences with prosthetics

10:30 a.m. Demonstration: Hand injuries, roughness, and torn skin

12:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30 p.m. Practice and awareness of the various constraints to overcome

6:30 p.m. End of the day

Prosthetics on Light Skin Tones: Sutured Wound with 5 Stitches

 9:30 a.m. Demonstration

Creating a freshly sutured open wound on light skin tones Preparing the knots, prosthetic transfer application, and painting with alcohol-based makeup

1:00 p.m. Lunch

2:00 p.m. Practice and awareness of the various constraints to overcome

6:30 p.m. End of the day

Prosthetics on Dark Skin Tones: Scarification

 9:30 a.m. Demonstration

Colour protocol for dark skin tones / painting the prosthetics with alcohol-based paints. Application and makeup

12:00 p.m. Lunch

1:00 p.m. Practice and awareness of the various constraints to overcome

6:30 p.m. End of the day

Prosthetics on Dark Skin Tones: Open Wound and Torn Skin

 9:30 a.m. Demonstration

  • Creating an open wound on dark skin tones Practice: 1st & 2nd Group

12:00 p.m. Lunch

1:00 p.m. Demonstration

  • Creating torn skin / dermabrasion Practice: 1st & 2nd Group

6:30 p.m. End of the day

Prosthetics with Various Asperities (Pimples, Dry Patches, etc.)

 9:30 a.m. Demonstration

  • Creating a character inspired by the work of photographer Bruce Gilden (Patinas of life using alcohol-based paints and/or Maqpro fard creams and application of prosthetic transfers)

12:00 p.m. Lunch

2:00 p.m. Practice: 2nd Group
