Master the techniques of various special effects for films.
Understand the different techniques to sculpt silicone directly onto the skin to create cutaneous and surgical effects.

Introduction & Small Cuts Following an Impact on a Bony Part of the Face

9:30 a.m. Interview and Round Table Meeting

  • Discussion around the different silicone moulding compounds and/or prosthetics to apply, depending on the following parameters: the script, work schedule, actor, weather conditions, budget, etc.
  • Research and documentation work (historical and medical)

12:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30 p.m. Demonstration

  • Small cuts caused by impacts on a bony part: (fractured nose, opened cheekbones, and brow bones)
  • Silicone sculpting
  • Makeup and blood

2:30 p.m. Practice – 1st & 2nd Group

6:30 p.m. End of the Day

Traumatic Effects & Torn Skin

9:30 a.m. Demonstration

  • The different traumatic skin effects after an impact
  • The consequences of an injury and peripheral effects
  • Mastery of bruise gels, alcohol-activated pigments, and “Maqpro fard crèmes” (trompe l'oeil work using colours and adequate placement)
  • Symptoms: traumatic dark circles, bruises, redness, shine (increased collagen and perspiration)

Deep Cuts and Bullet Wounds

 9:30 a.m. Demonstration

  • Deep cuts (e.g. stab wounds)
  • Creation of a second skin in pure transparency and cutting it
  • Silicone sculpting techniques with a thicker layer
  • Dealing with shine
  • Different blood types (alcohol or not)

10:30 a.m. Practice

  • Bullet wounds using Third Degree (modelling silicone) and makeup

Open and Infected Wounds

  • Open wounds
  • Other silicone sculpting techniques
  • Wound makeup, alcohol-activated makeup, working with skin flesh, mixing blood, patina

11:00 a.m. Demonstration

  • Infected wounds
  • Sculpting unsmoothed silicone with rough edges
  • Working with skin flesh, different blood types, pus, and patina around the wound

Scars
